I start by going for a walk with my dog, Elvis, followed by a healthy breakfast.
Afterwards, I step out the door and head straight to the office

I spend quiet moments reflecting and generating new designs for Oi Soi Oi.
Taking walks in nature or tending to my garden also sparks my creativity.
WHAT IS YOUR BEST ADVICE FOR SHOWING SELF-LOVE AND PRIORITIZING YOURSELF IN A BUSY DAY?
Make sure you eat healthily, read some good books, and get a good night's sleep.
Personally, I also try to limit my TV watching as much as possible.
HAVE YOU MADE A DECISION IN YOUR LIFE THAT HAS BEEN PARTICULARLY GOOD FOR YOU?
When I wholeheartedly embraced Oi Soi Oi, my passion for design and interior design found its perfect outlet.
Upon arriving in Hanoi, I quickly discovered the incredible potential to bring my designs to life. Eager to fuse traditional Vietnamese craftsmanship with a touch of Nordic flair, I actively sought out workshops and saw endless possibilities. It was in 2007 that I crossed paths with Christina, and together we embarked on the journey of creating Oi Soi Oi. Our partnership has stood the test of time, as Christina's business acumen complements my deep understanding of Vietnam and good design.
Hanoi has become my second home, and many of our workshops have remained steadfast since our humble beginnings. They feel like an extension of our own family, and I hold immense respect for all those who contribute to shaping the unique universe of Oi Soi Oi.
Among them, Thuy, my trusted right-hand, has been with me from the very start, providing invaluable support and dedication.
WHAT ADVICE, ON CREATING A LIFE IN BALANCE, WOULD YOU GIVE YOUR YOUNGER SELF?
To stay true to myself, I strive to free myself from excessive concern over others' opinions and make a conscious effort to better myself each day.
YOUR BEST TIP FOR A STRONG AND HEALTHY BODY AS WELL AS A MIND IN BALANCE?
I find immense joy in immersing myself in nature and appreciating its beauty throughout all seasons.
Additionally, maintaining a healthy diet,
practicing yoga, cultivating a positive mindset,
and, above all, embracing a sense of humor are essential to my well-being.
Laughter, in particular, holds incredible healing power. It alleviates stress, promotes relaxation of both the body and mind, enhances the quality of sleep, and fills me with an invigorating energy and a profound sense of happiness.
How would you define the concept of good design?
When crafting new collections for Oi Soi Oi, there are various factors that consistently guide my decision-making process: aesthetics, form, colors, and functionality. It is of utmost importance to me that our products possess a timeless quality, allowing them to seamlessly integrate and endure over the years. This way, we can contribute to a culture that values longevity over disposability.
Witnessing the positive reception of my designs, whether it be in people's homes, restaurants, or hotels across the globe, fills me with immense joy and pride.
DO YOU HAVE AN EASY BEAUTY TIP THAT WE MAY SHARE?
Not really. I don't rely on a lot of beauty products, but I prioritize staying hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids.
As part of my daily routine, I have been starting each morning for years with a glass of lukewarm water infused with lemon juice.
And I make it a point to smile often to help prevent too many wrinkles!
IF YOU COULD CHOOSE AN ACTIVITY OF YOUR OWN CHOICE THAT WOULD FILL YOU WITH LOTS OF ENERGY - WHAT WOULD IT BE?
I thrive on the vibrant energy of Hanoi, especially when I'm engrossed in designing new products or visiting "my" workshops.
I truly care about the people who assist us in creating our products. Their well-being and contributions mean a lot to me.
