Midsummer, the summer solstice and midsummer are approaching. The most important day of the year if you ask our creative director and founder Camilla Gullits. She loves celebrating midsummer and the light.
At Camilla and her husband Nikolaj's, the evening is filled with cozy traditions, smiles and love in the company of their family, good friends and more and more of their children's friends and now also grandchildren. This means that many generations gather this evening, and it gives a very special atmosphere of presence and life.
Beautiful flower wreaths are tied and dinner is eaten at the long table by the lake. The strawberries are red and pulled on straw and the honey is freshly churned. The fire is lit and classical songs are sung into the bright night.
Below you will find inspiration for what to wear to summer parties in the Danish and sometimes unpredictable summer weather. Whether it is stilettos, flip-flops or sneakers that suit the occasion is up to you. Our styles can be styled both up and down, and used for both everyday and party wear.
Pssst! Remember a warm, cozy sweater for when the sun goes down.
Very happy Saint Hans <3

For Camilla, St. Hansel is a day of celebration, and as host she starts the preparations well in advance. True to tradition, family and good friends gather early in the afternoon to tie beautiful wreaths out of the seasonal flowers. Delicate peonies, fragrant roses mixed with fine ditch-side glades.
Crackling Midsummer bonfire by the lake, Midsummer Carol, singing, music and cozy get-togethers while the sun sets.
Did you know that...?
Midsummer Eve on June 23rd symbolizes the celebration of the summer solstice, which falls on June 21st. The bright and mild June days, when the days are longest and the nights are light and short. Celebrating the arrival of summer on the longest day of the year , when the sun is highest above the horizon, is an old Nordic tradition. But the name Saint Hans itself comes from John the Baptist, who in the Christian faith has a birthday on June 24th - six months before Jesus' birthday.
The birth of Jesus and December 25, on the other hand, symbolize the winter solstice, which originally falls on December 21. The birthdays of Jesus and John the Baptist are therefore placed on their respective solstice points – when John the Baptist has his birthday, the days become shorter, whereas when Jesus has his birthday, the days become longer again.
