What does your morning routine look like?
It varies a bit depending on whether it's autumn/winter or spring/summer, for example whether I drink black or green tea, eat hot or cold, but it's certain that I listen to the morning radio so I'm updated on the news and the weather. In my morning routine, I wake up slowly while going through my skincare routine, which is a bit inspired by K-beauty routines, although I don't follow all 10 steps.
How do you best spend an hour in your own company?

It varies from nerding out about the symbolism of the tarot while listening to some great music, currently Hania Rani or Nils Frahm, to reading poetry, with Hafiz's poetry about love* being my go-to. An hour quickly disappears when I immerse myself in these interests, where I really allow myself to mono-task, and reflect on what I'm reading and feeling.

My interest in understanding symbolism has only grown in connection with tarot filling more, but I have long been fascinated by symbolism and decoration. That is also why I love getting tattooed once in a while, as the whole process of motif, placement and execution is another form of self-care for me. Especially with Sandra I go to who does hand poke tattoos, as it is a completely slow and zen process to come to her. I got my first tattoo when I was 18 and it is a small red heart on my right hand, so when I meet new people and shake their hand it symbolizes that I want to meet them with openness and love.

*Venus Just Asked Me

Maybe

For just one minute out of the day,

It may be of value to torture yourself

With thoughts like,

"I should be doing

A hell of a lot more with my life than I am –

Cause I'm so damn talented”.

But remember,

For just one minute out of the day.

With all the rest of your time,

It would be best.

Two tries

Looking upon your self more us God does.

Because He knows

Your true royal nature.

God is never confused.

And can only see Himself in you.

My dear,

Venus just leaned down and asked me

To tell you a secret, to confess

She's just a mirror who has been stealing

Your light and music for centuries.

She knows as does Hafiz,

You are the sole heir to

The King.

What is your best advice for showing self-love and prioritizing yourself in a busy everyday life?

We all want to be something for others around us, and we also want to be something for ourselves, and it's a difficult balancing act, but if we don't show self-love and remember to prioritize ourselves, we risk losing touch with ourselves in our efforts to be as much in touch with others as we are today in so many different ways.

My best advice would therefore be to remember that it is perfectly OK to give yourself the care and attention that we can focus so much on giving to everyone else...

And then be completely indifferent to what others think about the things we do, to show ourselves love and priority, as long as it does something good for ourselves, then who cares what others might think.

Have you made a decision in your life that has been particularly good for you?

Uh, that's a big existential question that can really have many different answers... but what I'm most in touch with now is that it's a huge help for me to practice focusing my attention on the present. Instead of being so busy with all the things I want to do, want to achieve or completely opposite, instead of being too much in the past... I practice not being too busy, and that can give me a calm, a different focus and presence.

If you could give your younger self one piece of advice on how to create a balanced life, what would it be?

Then it would undoubtedly be that there is nothing wrong with saying no, that being able to say no and setting a boundary is also contact. That I am welcome to "be a nuisance" by saying no and that I don't always have to say yes, because it is inhumane to think that if everyone else around me was happy, then I probably would be too.

Your best tip for a strong and healthy body and a balanced mind?

My best tip is to break the taboo around going to therapy – we visit the dentist for an annual check-up, choose organic for the sake of the body and Mother Earth, but when it comes to the mind, we are more stigmatized. My best tip is to strive for a holistic approach: body, spirit and mind talk to each other – so let’s each practice taking our mental health just as seriously, even if it’s not always as tangible in terms of results as when we focus on a healthy body.

How did you get started working with tarot cards?

I did this after a few years of reticence after a close relationship at the time had responded with “no, do you have to be like that?” when I mentioned that tarot really caught my interest… it’s something I’ve looked at on the sly every now and then, so it’s hard to answer. However, I went all in about 4 years ago, and it was so liberating and gave me a feeling of landing more in myself in terms of who I am, what I can do. Tarot for me is a fantastic means of reflection, which either gives me or others a different perspective, and other times it confirms something, and both are so rewarding. I also feel like I get in touch with my spiritual biological roots in a different way, and thereby honor them in my own way.

Do you have an easy beauty tip that we can share with others?

I have two because I simply can't choose.

The first is classic but means a lot to me, and that is getting my 7-8 hours of sleep.

The second is that it is important that what makes us happy takes up the most space in our everyday lives – happy and contented people have the most beautiful radiance, which is so attractive and contagious, so the tip must be more of what gives us joy and contentment, and turn down the “should” and “shoulds” a bit… or to practice doing just that. I feel that has given me a greater feeling and perception of beauty in myself.

If you could freely choose an activity that would give you lots of energy, what would it be?

Uh, it's hard but it must be a good live concert in the company of close relations, alone is also OK and no problem for me, but it is extra energizing to be at a concert with close relations, but I love it that some people stand on a stage and share so much of themselves, as there is something vulnerable connected to it, and that we as spectators are all there for the same reason with the same focus. That exchange of energy is too crazy for me. It is so liberating that we can do this again after various lockdowns.
